Dee Ann Newbold served as a Board member on the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners/Acupuncture Board from 1996-2005. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (1979) and Graduated from the Amer-Asian Institute of Oriental Medicine, Hawaii 1986. She was awarded "Acupuncturist of the Year" by the Consumer Business Review in 1998 and 1999. Graduate studies in acupuncture and complementary medicine have taken her to six foreign countries. Dee Ann keeps herself in the forefront of new trainings and seminars around the country and abroad. In November 1997, she was invited to participate in the National Institute of Health's First Conference on Acupuncture Research. Dee Ann has served as a member with several professional associations, including, The Texas Acupuncture Association, Board of Director (1998-2000); President (1996-1998); English Secretary (1994-1996); National Women Business Owners, Austin Chapter- Program Director (1991-1992); The Texas Alliance of Professional Acupuncturists, President (1988-1991). She has also served as a consultant for MHMR Travis County, Drug Detox Programs (1993-1994). She has been a past member of the Austin Women's Chamber of Commerce (1993-1995). Dee Ann served on the Advisory Board (1995-1998) for the Academy of Oriental Medicine, Austin, TX and was an instructor at the academy from 1995-1997. Dee Ann has been recognized as "Acupuncturist of the Year 1998" by the Consumer Business Review. She was awarded "Founder of Texas Acupuncture" by the Texas Acupuncture Association in 1997. In 1994, the Austin Chronicle Readers poll voted her "Best Acupuncturist in Austin." Dee Ann combines warm, personal care with the latest in education, skill, technology and equipment.
